My Astronomy Page 12/21/06 - I have been using my Mewlon 250 as much as possible and my AP178 when I have time. It looks like Astro-Physics is getting done with the last run of 160's. I should be in the next run. Hard to believe that it has been almost 7 years. In January 2000 when I got on the 155 list (now 160) the telescope was $5,600 or so. This last run of 160's has gone up to roughly $9,300 including the FeatherTouch focuser. That is a price increase of 66% since I got on the list. It is amazing that AP cannot even get close to catching up with orders even with the big price increases. I would not be surprised if Roland's next run of Telescopes will probably be a new 4"+ or 5"+ Refractor. That would put a run of 160's back to 2008 and a price in the $10K-$11K range. All I know is that I've waited this long and I will buy a 160 when my turn comes. The biggest problem I have is I will have to sell either my AP 178 Refractor or my Takahashi Mewlon 250 to buy the AP160. I have grown very fond of both of these Telescopes but with the rarity of the AP 178, I will sell the Mewlon 250.
